This is the Luz Station just around the corner from my new flat in the center of town, It was build at the end of the XIX century in England and shipped to Brasil to link the coffee plantantion in the country side to the port of Santos to be shipped all over the world.
It is now listed as a national heritage monument, it has been refurbished recently and it looks better than any I have seen in England ( or maybe the natural light is much better here) The picture was taken on a bright autumn day when I was having a look around the park while waiting for a friend to visit the Pinacoteca do Estado, the first Picture Gallery in the state, where we saw a show from Colombia and the gold jewels from the Inca Empire.
See more pics from the park which once was called the Jewel of Sâo Paulo

Life near Bixiga district,
I thought I would miss life in London a lot, not so much so far, apart from the many wondeful friends I have there, so I do not even want to think about as it hurts so much.
But the wonderful things I have seen so far make me soooo happy, Last sunday I went to the Bixiga district, where a lot of Italians used to settle last century, the antiques market is really nice, with a good selection of both Brazilian and European furniture, glass, metal work and ceramics, also rugs, etc, the shops around are equal to any geat city I have visited (NY, London, Paris, Kopenhagen, etc).
