This is the Luz Station just around the corner from my new flat in the center of town, It was build at the end of the XIX century in England and shipped to Brasil to link the coffee plantantion in the country side to the port of Santos to be shipped all over the world.


It is now listed as a national heritage monument, it has been refurbished recently and it looks better than any I have seen in England ( or maybe the natural light is much better here) The picture was taken on a bright autumn day when I was having a look around the park while waiting for a friend to visit the Pinacoteca do Estado, the first Picture Gallery in the state, where we saw a show from Colombia and the gold jewels from the Inca Empire.
